...SBQ&Cross Stitcher...

Today's SBQ is:

Do you have an organizational system for your patterns? If so, how do you
organize them? If not, have you considered organizing them?

Yes I have an organizational system for my pattern :

  • A big ring binder for all free pattern and leaflets sorted by designer.
  • A ring binder for Lizzie Kate pattern.
  • A transparent folder binder for Margaret Sherry pattern.
  • A folder for Disney magazines.
  • A big red folder for Jeremiah Junction magazines and leaflet.
  • A big red folder for Italian magazine.
  • Two open folder for the UK magazine.
  • A metallic box for the kit.

Finally I received my Cross Stitcher march issue…luckily in Italy mother day is the second Sunday of may so I can stitch the Tina Wenke card for my mum …

WILL STITCH LIST of this issue:

  • Tina Wenke free kit
  • Tatty Teddy
  • The Oriental ideogram
  • Archie bear

Some progress for the march flip it….I would like to finish it on time for saint Patrick day…

For Heather the fabric is an AIDA 14 count by DMC I don’t know the name of the colour maybe ochre or cream…

…spring is arriving….

..today first day of spring in Reggio Emilia (for me)…no fog, only sun, blue sky and white cloud a perfect march spring day…and the temperature is rising hurrah!!!…

..I’m still alive…but last week was a very busy week at work so no time to stitch (I arrive at home too late and to tired)…and no time to post…:o(

Happily this week end I make up for lost time…

I finished my envelope for ENS Italian mail art exchange…I’m quite satisfied but not totally…this was my first envelope and I pay for my inexperience with the sewing machine…I leave a border of linen too little so when I sewed on the envelope become very small…I hope my partner will love it instead of its measure!! :o)

I work on my SBEB spring exchange ..I have started the stitching part and I‘ve decided how to finish it….I hope to finish it soon and well…

Then I make same little progress on my PIG…

And I start the March flip it…

No more stitching for the week end…I spend all the rest of my spare time playing parlour game with Alice and our friend….we have unearth some old parlour game (Hotel, Risiko…) and we have a lot of fun!!!…a different enjoyable week end…
Now SBQ…(quite late but still on time)
SBQ was suggested by Cheryl and is:

What cross-stitch magazines or other publications (as opposed to blogs) do you read on a regular basis? What do you like about them? What do you not like? What would your perfect publication include?

I have a subscription to Cross Stitcher (by the way I’m still waiting for my march issue :o( ) and sometimes I buy on e-bay The World of cross stitching, Q&E or Cross stitch crazy if there is something interesting. In the magazine I like especially the chart (those of MS, tatty teddy, Newton law…) the free gift (if present), the stitching advice, the wise word…and the photo of reader work.

The perfect magazine:

  • On time
  • Cheap
  • Full of MS design
  • With a cute free gift…I ask for nothing else :o)

...February Flip it...

I can’t believe….I make an order in UK last Tuesday and yesterday I found the whole of the order in my mail box!!! Wonderful!! I bought some supply for the exchange I have joined so I can’t show anything but there is s a lot of lovely thing!!!

Also the floss I ordered in US arrive this week at last!!! So now I have all the thing I ordered !! WOW :o)

Yesterday evening I finished February Flip it stamp!!! On time for once!! Now I’m ready to start March Flip it ….

With the floss and the fabric I ordered finally yesterday I started my Touching the Autumn Sky…a little progress form me (after one and the half hour of stitching)…the colour are lovely I’m itching to work on it again..

This week end I’m going to clean the house down …by now I have clean only the bathroom the rest of the house is a disaster so I have to roll up my sleeves…

Thank you for all your kind comment on my hand towel, my partner in EMS exchange wtite me to tell me that she likes the hand towel!!! So I'm happy!!!

For Africa this is a kitchen towel...

Good week end to everyone :o)

...EMS hand towel exchange....

My hand towel has reached its new home so I can show you a photo of it:

I stitch an Alma Lynne flower border I like the colour of it!!

Unfortunately the girl who received the hand towel hasn’t post any comments about it I hope she likes it!!

..happy dance &SBQ...

I’m ill, yesterday I had a temperature of 39°C so I’m at home..today I’m better apart a sore throat…I take advantage of it to take a rest!!

A big happy dance for me!!
I work hard this week end to finish the clown and send it to Levi!! It was very big..too big!! I broke also a needle, it never happens to me before!!!

Well I finished it and I’m really happy…I don’t like to spent all my free time stitching...but I was late, next time I have to be more organized!!

On Sunday Alice make her first x-stitch…she was happy of it and show her work to everyone !!!

Finally I bought the fabric to start my Mirabilia I went to my LNS and bought a light blue linen it is not quite what I want but I ‘m satisfied and now I can start stitching!!!

Last week's SBQ was suggested by Heather and is:

Comment on your comments (giving and receiving): Do you love comments
or hate them? Do you check them every day, never check them, or find
them helpful? And finally, are you convinced no one is reading your
blog if you don't get any?

I love comments!!! Both sent and received!! I download them on my mail box...so I can read them as soon as they arrive!! I like every kind of comments: short or long comments I find a lot of them really helpful to improve my technique and learn new stitching method!! Usually I post short comments because of I haven’ a lot of time to do so, I post it on my work break, but I think other stitcher likes comments (as me) even if they are short.
I I don’t get any I don’t think anyone read my blog because I have a counter and the number of visitors increase so I think someone read my blog but don’t post comment for a lot of reason…sometimes I read blog but I don’t post anything because I haven’t anything to say.

...clown...

Hi to everyone….

In those days I’m working hard on my clown to finish it until 21 February when I have to send it to Levi I’m quite late due to the delay of the order I have done…the floss aren’t at my home yet and to finish my clown I buy it here in Italy!!! What a nuisance!!! :o( I’m really angry with the store….I think I’ll never do my shop there!!! No photo because I have no time to make it!!

Apart from the order everything go well….

Oh I nearly forgot… I have built a very simple website where I show :

My Wish List

My Top Five

My To Do List

I have put the links to those pages on the right bar of my blog….if you want to give a cursory glance you are welcome :o)

...Cross Stitcher& SBQ&Flip it...

Some little progress on February Flip it Stamp…blocked by the lack of floss (I hope on a trip to Italy)…

Finally February Cross Stitcher is arrive and it is really nice!!

In this issue I like very much:
Exclusive: Celandine Flower Faires (by DMC)
Happy Valentine's day (by Margaret Sherry)
Bouncing babies & buttons
London calling especially the doubledecker
Hello Archie!: I love you (by Margaret Sherry)
And the free gift has a wonderful colour!! And it will be useful to retain the pattern on my X—stitch bag…

Today's was suggested by Nancy and is:

Describe your "perfect" project. (Include the designer or specific pattern, the fabric, the floss, and anything else that would make that project "perfect" for you.)

My perfect Projects:

The pattern: Margaret Sherry’s or Lizzie Kate’s
The fabric: Aida 14ct maybe hand dyed
The floss: DMC all available in my floss box
The place: a chair under sun lighting near a little table (to rest the floss)
The atmosphere: a light background music
…and most important a lot of time just for me and my stitching!!!!

I’m happy not to be the only crazy and paranoid stitcher…
Zohrah Adam is great!!!...it’s wonderful to be a NEEDLE MUM I think that Alice will agree with him!!
Sure Cindy you can be my online friend!! :o) I’m happy of it!!!

...hurrah...

Hurrah!!It's arrive!! It's arrive Cross stitcher it's arrive!! My mum phone me a minuts ago and tell me this wonderful news!!! Hurrah!!

...long wait & SBQ....

After a long wait...finally I know something about my order!!! Well they tell me that the fabric I have ordered come from New Zealand and they are waiting for it but my floss are ready so I decide to delete the fabric from the order and receive only the floss….I hope they arrive soon!! I must say that they can tell me of the long waiting when I did the order!!! Now I have waited for a month a fabric to start my Mirabilia and now I have nothing :o( ….when I find the time I’ll go to my LNS and I hope to find the right fabric for the design

(I’ll be content myself, I’m really tired to wait for something…..now I’m still waiting for my February Cross Stitcher issue… I’m paranoid: everyday the first thing I do when I arrive at home is to control the mail box to search my magazine and every day I feel let down, sometimes I phone to my mum to ask her if there is any post for me… my mum said I’m crazy for cross stitch….and I think this is true !!!) :o)….is there anyone around crazy as me?

This is a very busy week for me at work an the next one will be worse!!! So little stitch for me (only the frame of the February flip it stamp…) and little (or better nonexistent) blog reading!!!

Last week I forgot to answer the :

With the exception of your online stitching friends, do you have any other stitching buddies?

Unfortunately no buddies for me near home, I have some friend who stitch but occasionally…and they are no x stitch addict!!!!

...Hand towel & Howl....

This week end I applied myself to the exchange hand towel and I finished it!!! I’m quite satisfied of the end results…but this is the last time I use Aida14 it’s too big!!! By now I can show you only the gift wrapping…

No more stitching for me this week end… on those days I was quite feed up… I’m very angry with the Reggio Emilia Post that don’t deliver the mail on time…I haven’t received my Cross Stitcher February number yet :o( I’ll stitch the S. Valentine card next year!!!….and I’m really angry with the Us shop where I have ordered the floss and the fabric….they haven’t send me anything yet…and I done the order one month ago….so I’m blocked with two stitching projects: Clown (I need the floss) and Touching the Autumn Sky (to start I need the fabric!!!)…I wrote to the sales office and I hope they reply soon otherwise I delete my order!!!!!
Saturday evening we saw a very lovely animation movie “Howl’s moving castle” , the pictures are really well done and the story is attractive…a very good movie!!

PS: Thank you very much of all your kind comments....they make me very happy :o)

…January Flip it Stamp…

With a little late yesterday evening I finished my January Lizzie Kate Flip it Stamp…I enjoy very much to stitch it it’s very quick and relaxing!!! I’m itching to start February stamp…:o)

Finally yesterday my Cross Stitcher December issue is arrived…better late than never( when I wrote to Cross Stitcher they are very kind a send me a new copy immediately)…it’s a lovely number I love especially Archie Bear (it has a really sweet expression!!) Elliot and Button free kit and Say A Little Prayer …

Thank you for all the kind comment on my hen …Angie asked me if I hade named her …well I think I’ll name her “Cesarina” as the hen protagonist of a child song I love very much!!!

I realize that in my answer I have forgotten to mention my favourite movie: Kill Bill VOL I and II …it was unpardonable :o)

...just back from Livigno...

I’m just back from Livigno!!! Wow what a wonderful week, the slopes were perfect… we havw skied a lot and all together ( Alice is quite clever now, she likes skiing as you can see from her smile in the photo!!!) luckily no broken legs :o)

… on Friday there was an heavy snowfall I have never seen so many snow!!!

After skiing I apply myself to X-stitch, naturally….I worked on the Hand Towel for the exchange of EMS Board…as it’s for an exchange I can’t show you any photo now !! The hand towel I have bought has an insert of Aida 11 so I used 3 strands for the stitching….the last time I have used this kind of fabric was long time ago and I have to say I’ll never use it in the future… the X are really large and I don’t like it very much I prefer Aida 14…I’ll take it in account for the next time!!!

Finally I bought DMC 746 so I have finished my HEN

I have also started the pig…the progress will be more considerable…but I noticed that I have make a big mistake …I have stitched all the right cheeks and the right ear two X stitch down from their correct position so I have to unmake all the work done :o(

Tomorrow back to work…:o(…oof!!!

...Blocks Club...

Yesterday I took part to a wonderful club founded by some Italian friends, I’ll stitch the FLIP IT STAMPS by Lizzie Kate (as I have told you before I would like to stitch it)…

Below some in formations about the club if someone want to join us:

The Blocks Club is a club “founded” by Dolci Fusa and Bea.
It’s a club open to everyone who want to stitch one of the three sets of seasonal Flip-it by Lizzie Kate.
Every month you have to complete the Flip it of the corresponding month. Who joins the group and wants to show her works can send a picture to dolcifusa@dolcifusa.it, month for month, 72 dpi with the bigger side smaller than 750 pixel.
The participant must use her own chart and her own material (no chart will be distributed).
For any info mail to : dolcifusa@dolcifusa.it

dolcifusa@dolcifusa.it

...Harry...

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is come out in Italian at last!!! I read it in one breath….I finished it last night at 2.47 a.m, now I’m sleepy but it was really worth it!!!It’s marvellous but really sad!!!

Unfortunately holidays are finished!!!
Today we have unmade the Christmas tree and the nativity…I feel quite sad :o(
The return to work and school is hard!!! I hope next holiday will arrive soon :o)

I have started stitching the farm animals by Margaret Sherry, I start with the HEN I think it’s really nice….

...fun farm animals&SBQ...

Finally I have found some almost square frame!!! There are some dividing but I can easily remove them...

When I found this frame I think they will be perfect to frame FUN FARM ANIMALS by Margaret Sherry so I decide to stitch it!!

For the first time since September, today's was suggested by noneother than yours truly and is:

Do you do your stash shopping at your LNS, ONS, or both? Which do youlike better? Why?

I do the most of my stash shopping at ONS.
I like better ONS because they have a wide range of products and I can shopping calmy without a saleswoman who look at me (that get my annoyed!!). while I’m choosing what I want. The LNS in my city is really pretty and the saleswoman are really kind but there is a narrow choice of chart and fabric and the floss are very expensive :o( , here I buy only patchwork cloth…and floss in case of emergency!!!

....Epiphany & Eeyore...

Today is the Epiphany and it’s traditional that an ugly old woman brings children little gift(I don't know if this is a worldwide tradition !?!)…Alice was really happy today... she has received a lot of candy and no coal (the old woman brings coal to the naughty children !!)

I have started and finished Eeyore kit for my sister…I have made a mess I have used two strands instead of one…I realize it when it was too late...I was in the middle of the stitching so I continue to stitch in this way, the only problem is that there isn’t enough Lavender floss so I search the Dmc floss that is more similar …I think that the difference between the two kind of floss is little…:o)

I put the pattern on the top of a pink (Alice has painted it!!) box as showed in the magazine and give it to my sister.

Yesterday my X stitch order is arrived !!! hurrah!!! I received Touching the Autumn Sky (Mirabilia) it’s the most elegant chart I’ve ever bought!!! And all the Flip it Stamp of Lizzie kate for the SAL of Friend Gather unfortunately I have forgotten to order the January stamp what ever was I thinking of!?! Now I have to make a new order :o( and postpone the starting of the Sal I think we have to start with January….

...Seasons and Cross Stitcher

It’s great to be on holiday!!! :o)..I don’t want to come back to work!!! :o(
This is my first holiday in the true sense of the world…before my holiday was always spoil by the study now, as I have finished university , I can relax myself and spent all the time with my DD and my hobbies stitching, reading and shopping!! Fabulous!!

Today i have my first happy dance of 2006!!
I have finished the free pattern called Seasons by San Man Originals…
in the original design the snowman nose is a carrot button, as I haven’t a carrot button I draw it by myself…I’m not totally happy about it…but in its entirity is not too bad :o)

I stitch it to make a daily calendar for Alice DD so she can learn the time: day, week, month and season. I put the aida into a cardboard frame where I glued the calendar…I stuff the aida with cotton to ticken the pattern…and this is the end result:

Today it’s arrived Cross Stitcher January issue…

It’s strange that it’s arrived today:
  • I haven’t received December number yet
  • and usually I received the current number of the magazine a long time later it come out in England…

well I hope that December issue will arrive sooner or later….

Now I enjoy the January number, I like:

  • Eeyore gift set: I’ll stitch for my sister it’s are favourite Winnie the Pooh characters

  • Eeyore and Friend, unfortunately the treads are special Disney treads :o(

  • When I’m an Old Cat: (I like the cat but I don’t like the crystral bell)

  • Funky Floral cards…the pot are really fanciful

  • Hello Archie with Spot the dog
